Abstract:
A clamp with a first clamp halve with a hinge portion and a first opening for a fastener; a second clamp halve, with a hinge portion and a first opening for a fastener; a cable opening; and a hinge device for connecting the two hinge portions. The clamp may also include a first clamp halve with a second opening for a closing insert.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a cross-arm for supporting power cables, and a process for manufacturing a cross-arm. A cross-arm is provided which is an integrated form and which includes a plurality of shape components, each of the plurality of shape components having a profile which is arranged to reduce conductive tracking. The shape components may include a shadow arrangement where the sheds are mounted vertically in use and include recesses between the sheds that are shaped to receive cables. Another shape component includes a cross-arm top section profile to promote the runoff of water.
Abstract:
ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for handling and/or stringing energized conductor for a high voltage power line conductor for a high voltage power line is provided. The method includes bringing components and workers to the same electrical potential and transferring power from one contractor to another. Associated apparatus is also described.
Abstract:
A power transmission shield (10) is utilized on a power transmission line (100) to prevent electrical discharge from the transmission line (100) to an animal. The shield (10) includes an insulative mesh structure (12) formed of a plurality of fibrous strands (14) and a means for securing the insulative mesh structure (12) to the transmission line (100).
Abstract:
An electrical installation comprises a support structure including a wooden pole (20.1, 20.2), electrical equipment (14, 16) mounted on the support structure, and an earthing conductor (24, 72) through which the equipment is earthed. The earthing conductor is set in a channel (34) cut in the outer surface of the pole. At each end of the earthing conductor there is a threaded bush 26, which is also set in the pole. Electrical connections can be made to the earthing conductor by means of threaded bolts (46) which engage with the bushes. The earthing conductor is concealed by a wooden cover strip (38) which fits in the channel to cover the conductor. A method of installing the earthing conductor is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A method for the realisation and the maintenance of overhead line plants for telecommunications, in which the anchor or "mooring" device of the self-gripping two-way supports of the cables, is made integral with a movable structure free to move along the supporting post. The structure comprises a chain allowing to lower the line from span level to ground level, and its successive lifting to the predetermined operative height at the end of the maintenance intervention; said lowering of the line to the ground level being obtained by expoliting the gravity force acting on the line itself, and the successive lifting, by pulling this anchor chain. The movable structures are realised according to different configurations, depending on the characteristics of the posts where these structures are used.
Abstract:
An installation (10) comprises an aerial line (12), for example an ADSS cable, suspended from a plurality of suspension locations (14) provided on or by structures which extend from ground level (18). In order to bar access to the line to climbing animals such as rodents which may damage the line rotatable bodies (20) are provided on the structures and/or the line adjacent thereto.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a wind turbine with a suspension, to such suspension and holders for such suspensions. The invention has the purpose of suspending elongated members such as electrical power cables from the nacelle of a wind turbine and down through the tower of the wind turbine. The suspension of the invention utilises either a high friction between an inner rod and outer plates to hold the member by ensuring that the length of the inner rod and the supporting plates is at least four times the diameter of the members or a more mechanical holding of the members by providing beads in clamping portions constituting the suspension.
Abstract:
A wildlife guard assembly is provided that includes two cover sections, a biasing member, and a toggle action lever mechanism. The cover sections are hinged so that the cover sections, when in a closed position, a cavity to capture a line post insulator is defined. The biasing member normally biases the cover sections to the closed position. The lever mechanism is connected to the cover sections and has an over-center position that releasably holds the two cover sections in an open position. The lever mechanism is positioned in the cavity such that, during installation on the line post insulator, the line post insulator interacts with the lever mechanism to move the lever mechanism from the over-center position to allow the biasing member and the lever mechanism to move the cover sections to the closed position.
