    Abstract: An image capture device may detect and repair banding artifacts in a video. The image capture device may include an image sensor and an image processor. The image sensor may capture a frame that includes a sinusoidal light waveform banding artifact. The image processor may detect a sinusoidal light waveform in the frame. The image processor may perform a sinusoidal regression. The image processor may obtain an inverted gain map. The image processor may apply the inverted gain map to the frame. The image processor may output the frame.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for secure control flow prediction. Some implementations may be used to eliminate or mitigate the Spectre-class of attacks in a processor. For example, an integrated circuit for executing instructions includes a control flow predictor with entries that include respective indications of whether the entry has been activated for use in a current process, wherein the integrated circuit is configured to access the indication in one of the entries that is associated with a control flow instruction that is scheduled for execution; determine, based on the indication, whether the entry of the control flow predictor associated with the control flow instruction is activated for use in a current process; and responsive to a determination that the entry is not activated for use in the current process, apply a constraint on speculative execution based on control flow prediction for the control flow instruction.

    Abstract: Signals of an immersive multimedia item are jointly considered for optimizing the quality of experience for the immersive multimedia item. During encoding, portions of available bitrate are allocated to the signals (e.g., a video signal and an audio signal) according to the overall contribution of those signals to the immersive experience for the immersive multimedia item. For example, in the spatial dimension, multimedia signals are processed to determine spatial regions of the immersive multimedia item to render using greater bitrate allocations, such as based on locations of audio content of interest, video content of interest, or both. In another example, in the temporal dimension, multimedia signals are processed in time intervals to adjust allocations of bitrate between the signals based on the relative importance of such signals during those time intervals. Other techniques for bitrate optimizations for immersive multimedia streaming are also described herein.

    Abstract: A condition of an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is detected using one or more sensors of the UAV and signaled according to an alert definition associated with the condition. For example, an alert definition can indicate to signal the condition by using a motor of the UAV to produce an audible tone. A tonal signal having a frequency within an audible spectrum can be generated according to the alert definition. The tonal signal and a drive signal used for supplying current to the motor can be combined to produce a combined signal. The combined signal can then be transmitted to the motor to cause the motor to produce the audible tone. In some cases, an amplitude of the tonal signal can be modulated, such as where the amplitude of the combined signal exceeds a threshold associated with an operating margin of the UAV.

The method also includes estimating a first noise model that represents characteristics of the first frame block. The method also includes identifying at least one frame block adjacent to the first frame block. The method also includes generating a second noise model that represents characteristics of the at least one frame block adjacent to the first frame block by adjusting the first noise model based on at least one characteristic of the at least one frame block adjacent to the first frame block. The method also includes denoising the at least one frame block adjacent to the first frame block using the second noise model.
