A high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) transmission system includes an alternating current (AC) electrical source and a power converter channel that includes an AC-DC converter electrically coupled to the electrical source and a DC-AC inverter electrically coupled to the AC-DC converter. The AC-DC converter and the DC-AC inverter each include a plurality of legs that includes at least one switching device. The power converter channel further includes a commutating circuit communicatively coupled to one or more switching devices. The commutating circuit is configured to "switch on" one of the switching devices during a first portion of a cycle of the H-bridge switching circuits and "switch off the switching device during a second portion of the cycle of the first and second H-bridge switching circuits.

An insulation system includes a number of mica hard-boards joinable to form a free-standing slot-liner for insulating a conductor when placed therein and accommodating an expansion of the conductor. In another embodiment, an electromagnetic pump includes a stator of the electromagnetic pump including a number of laminations, a slot-liner positioned within a gap formed by the laminations, an annular wound copper conductor coil positioned within the slot-liner. The slot-liner includes a number of mica hard-boards joined to form an annular volume for insulating the conductor coil and accommodating an expansion of the conductor coil.

A system includes a bearing assembly configured to be coupled to a compressor of a gas turbine engine and to receive an end of a torque shaft assembly, a bearing housing 202, and a circumferential bearing 204. The circumferential bearing includes a split race 210 and a ball 214 disposed within the split race. The circumferential bearing may be configured to be removed from the bearing housing without having to remove the torque shaft assembly from the compressor.
Abstract:
A method of dynamically adjusting an industrial system outage plan is disclosed. Data items pertaining to changes to past plans associated with past outages of a plurality of industrial systems are received. The data items include measurements of impacts of changes to the past plans. Work rules pertaining to a work force are received. The work force is responsible for implementing an additional plan corresponding to an additional outage of an additional industrial system. The work rules include fatigue thresholds for workers in the work force. Based on a determination that a probability that one or more fatigue thresholds will be exceeded, a recommendation for a change to the additional plan is generated. The recommendation is based on the measurements of the impacts of the changes to the past plans. The additional plan is modified based on various criteria.

An electric power system including an on-load tap changing (OLTC) transformer is provided. The OLTC transformer includes a primary winding and a secondary winding. A portion of the at least one primary winding and at least one of the secondary windings are inductively coupled to each other. Further, the electric power system includes at least one on-load tap changer coupled to the at least one primary winding or the at least one secondary winding of the OLTC transformer. The on-load tap changer is configured to regulate the portion of the at least one primary winding or the at least one secondary winding that are inductively coupled to each other. Furthermore, the system includes at least one controller coupled to the on-load tap changer. The controller is configured to determine a permissible voltage range defined by a bandwidth around a voltage set-point at the at least one on-load tap changer, where the bandwidth is a function of one or more electrical network states.

A variable ram packer has an elastomeric body having a central semi-cylindrical recess and wings extending from opposite lateral sides of the recess. Inserts are positioned around the recess, each having an upper plate, a lower plate and a web joining the plates. Inserts at the junction with the wings have barrier plates between and parallel with the upper and lower plates. Upper and lower wing plates are located on upper and lower surfaces of the wings. An adhesive layer on an outer portion of each of the wing plates bonds the wing plates to the elastomer of the body. Each wing plate has an inner portion in abutment with the elastomer and free of the adhesive layer.

The shear ram assembly includes a ram block disposed within the shear ram housing and having a forward end facing the bore, the ram block movable between an open position, in which the ram block is retracted away from the bore, and a closed position, in which the ram block is extended toward the bore. The blade has a forward surface, a rear surface, a lower shearing edge, and an upper edge, the blade attached to the forward face of the ram block by fasteners extending at an angle relative to an upper surface of the ram block through a portion of the ram block and into the rear surface of the blade, the rear surface of the blade angled so that it is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the fasteners.

A mechanical lockdown system for a subsea wellhead connector includes a lockdown member or plate that engages with a tie rod that is connected to the wellhead assembly. The lockdown system includes a support member that is permanently secured to an annular ring through which the tie rod passes. The lockdown system also includes a first handle and a second handle that are installed using a plunger or spring loaded system such that mechanical lockdown system can be easily moved from a lockdown open position to a lockdown engaged position as and when desired with minimal ROV interface.

The gas intake apparatus further includes a gas intake mechanism coupled to the housing at the at least one gas intake passage. The gas intake mechanism is configured to facilitate a flow of gaseous substances therethrough and to restrict a flow of solids and liquids therethrough.
