The present application discloses novel glass articles comprising a borosilicate part and a B 2 O 3 -BaO-containing glass part fused to the borosilicate glass part, and process for making such articles. The B 2 O 3 -BaO-containing glass has a CTE in the range of 75-87x10 -7 /°C between about 0-300°C, and a softening point of between 550-650°C. The glass can be colored to differing colorations. The glass articles advantageously can be high-end perfume bottles and other receptacles capable of containing aqueous liquids.

The invention provides a high-refractivity and low-dispersion optical glass suitable for precise press molding, and the glass comprises, in wt%, SiO 2 1-8, B 2 O 3 16-30, La 2 O 3 15-40, Gd 2 O 3 0-20, ZnO 8-30, Nb 2 O 5 0.5-14.5, WO 3 0-12.5, TiO 2 0-9, Li 2 O 0.5-4, ZrO 2 1-10, Y 2 O 3 0-5, Yb 2 O 3 0-5, Lu 2 O 3 0-5, Na 2 O 0-3, K 2 O 0-2, Al 2 O 3 0-2, BaO 0-3, CaO 0-3, SrO 0-3, MgO 0-3, Sb 2 O 3 0-0.5, and SnO 2 0-0.5.
