A tourniquet having a first elongated member with a buckle on one end, and a second elongated member attached at both ends to the end of the first elongated member but leaving an intermediate portion of the second elongated member otherwise slidable with respect to the first elongated member. A windlass is used to twist the intermediate portion to apply tension to the first longitudinal member. Twisting the windlass produces a lineal component to the force and a torsional component. The buckle includes a first lateral side, a second lateral side and an intermediate bar between and spaced apart from them. The buckle also includes an anti-torsional plate that resists the torsional force. The buckle also has "teeth" the resist movement of the first longitudinal member from the buckle.

A method of manufacturing an artery compression device. The method includes obtaining a polymer substrate with a first surface and a second surface and applying a colorant layer to the first surface of the polymer substrate. The polymer substrate is coupled to a fastener. The polymer substrate is also coupled to a semi-rigid member, the semi-rigid member including an outer surface and an inner surface and a flexible member to the semi-rigid member. An inflatable chamber is at least partially defined by the flexible member.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Wunderstversorgung, welche zwei, jeweils an einer Seite offene Kammern (1) und (2) besitzt, wobei die erste Kammer (1) als Vakuumkammer mit einem Ventil (5) zum Absaugen von Luft ausgeführt ist und die im wesentlichen zentral angeordnete zweite Kammer (2), die zur Anordnung über der Wunde vorgesehen ist, peripher umgibt. In einer bevorzugten Ausführungsform der erfindungsgemäßen Vorrichtung ist an der Kammer (2) eine mit einem Ventil (8) versehene Öffnung zum Absaugen von Luft oder Körperflüssigkeiten vorgesehen.

A harness for care of bleeding wounds has a retention disk configured to receive a wound care pad, and a harness for affixing the retention disk and wound care pad in place around a victim's body part and over a bleeding wound. The harness has a fastening mechanism for joining two ends of a strap of the harness together around the victim's body part, as well as a tightening mechanism for tightening the strap around the body part in order to ensure sufficient pressure of the wound care pad on the wound.

Embodiments of the invention are related to a device for applying pressure on a portion of a body part of a user. The device includes a pressure applying head for applying pressure on the portion of the body, for example, a blood vessel or a vas deferens. The device further includes an actuator configured to cause the pressure applying head to apply pressure on the body part and a fastening unit for fastening the device to a body part of a user. The device may further include at least one sensor, for example, heart rate and/or blood pressure sensor and a controller configured to receive from the at least sensor a signal (e.g., a raise in the heart rate or blood pressure) and controls the actuator based on the signal.

A tourniquet with audio instructions comprising: a tourniquet with a belt, clip, securing strap, and instruction module; a release switch can be activated when the tourniquet is put in use so that audio instructions are provided to the user for using the tourniquet. The invention can include the instruction module being carried by a holster that also carries the tourniquet. The instruction module can be activated when the tourniquet is removed from the holster, unfolded or manually actuated. The tourniquet can be retained in a holster and the instruction module is activated when the tourniquet is removed from the holster.
