Abstract:
A method for joining flanges or other couplings to pipes, wherein a plurality of radially expanding segments (10) with circular ridges (11) on a tool inserted into the pipe (1), press beads (5, 6) in the pipe wall into corresponding grooves (3, 4) in the surrounding coupling element (2), where the pipe end, by means of a projection on the segments, is given an overbending outwards that prevents the pipe end from tapering inwards during the pressing of the beads. The invention comprises the interior configuration of the coupling element as well as a tool for pressing the beads.
Abstract:
An inspection device for use on joint zones of piping (4) and the like where the joint zone (2) includes a joint interface (3a), the device comprising a housing (1) adapted for fitting over the joint interface so as to form a substantial seal bridging the joint interface wherein the housing is adapted to allow visual or other inspection of the joint interface.
Abstract:
Apparatus for spreading flanges of pipes to be joined, comprising pins capable of engaging bolt holes in adjacent flanges and a force-transmission system capable of exerting force on the pins when engaged in the bolt holes. The apparatus enables the flanges to be separated without inserting any part of the spreading apparatus between the flanges.
Abstract:
A seal retaining system for retaining a seal ring (23) in a pipe coupling (20), wherein a plurality of seal ring retainers are connected to a flange (21, 22) around the periphery of a seal seat and wherein the retainers can be moved from an open position in which a seal ring can be placed on or removed from the seal seat to a closed position in which the seal ring is retained in position on the seal seat. In one embodiment, each retainer comprises a rotatable cam (36, 37) having a lip (38) which extends generally around the circumference of the cam, but is truncated on one side. When the truncated portion faces the seal seat, the seal ring can be installed or removed. When the truncated portion faces away from the seal seat, the seal ring is held in position on the seal seat. The cams may be attached with bolts that can be sheared off if the cams are frozen in position.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a spray protection ring for pipe flanges consisting of a clamping wall, which covers the flange crack when placed on the peripheral surfaces of the flange. An annular connector (9) protrudes radially inwards from the clamping band. A radial and axial element (11) is joined to this connector, and serves as a spacer for an annular screen-like element (12) which extends around the periphery and acts as a valve. The connector (9) and the connected element (11) have a plurality of slits (50) distributed around the periphery. These slits (50) are out-of-line in peripheral direction in relation to a plurality of slits (40) distributed around the periphery of the screen (12). Before mounting, the axial extension of the screen (12) is slightly greater than the distance between the facing flange surfaces (20, 21).
Abstract:
The present invention involves a pipe flange (1A) internally fitted with a lining (2A). The pipe flange (1A) has a face (4A) with an annular groove (5) extending outward from the inside surface (3) along at least a portion of the face (4A). The groove (5) may be tapered becoming deeper as it travels outward from the inside surface (3). The lining (2A) extrudes into the annular groove (5) partially filling the groove (5) and protruding beyond the face (4A) of the flange (1A). The unfilled portion of the annular groove (5) forms an expansion cavity (6A) into which the lining (2A) can extend when the lining is mated to another object using compressive force. The present invention also provides a pipe flange connection where the face (4A) of the internally lined pipe flange (1A) is mated to another object (1B) using compressive force. The present invention also provides a method of applying an elastomeric lining (2A) inside a pipe flange (1A).
Abstract:
Abstract:
In a first aspect the invention relates to a pipe connector for connecting a first element to a second element. The pipe connector comprises a pipe segment (11), a first flange (12) located at a first end of the pipe segment (11) and configured to be connected to said first element, and a second flange (13) located at a second end of the pipe segment (11) and configured to be connected to said second element. The pipe connector (1) is characterized in that said first flange (12) comprises a circumferential anchor flange (18) that is fixed connected to the pipe segment (11) at said first end, a flange insert (19) that is displaceable in the axial direction of the pipe connector (1) in relation to the anchor flange (18) between a retracted position and an extended position, and means for displacing the flange insert (19) in relation to the anchor flange (18), in the direction running axial from the second end towards the first end of the pipe segment (11), wherein the flange insert (19) in the extended position protrude in the axial direction in relation to said anchor flange (18). In a second aspect the invention also relates to a pipe connector unit comprising such a pipe connector (1) and an adaptor (8).
