Abstract:
An embroidery sewing machine with such a structure that at least one of driving mechanisms required for embroidery sewing is provided with a driving source independant of the other driving mechanisms and a control device is provided so as to control said one driving source and those of the other driving mechanisms for synchronous operation thereof. With this structure, the driving mechanism having the independent driving source can structurally be simplified thanks to the reduced number of interlocking mechanisms and thus vibration and noise can be reduced. Further, a timing at which to operate the driving mechanism having the independant driving source can freely be set by a signal from said control device according to an embroidery pattern.
Abstract:
In a process for perfect optical detection, by means of a light barrier (11-19), of any edge (30) of a workpiece (1, 2), even when the workpiece has pronounced inhomogeneities, an equalization device (22, 23) measures the extreme values of the fluctuations in the light measurement signal (U) due to these inhomogeneities when the workpiece is moved relative to the detection site of the light barrier before the edge is detected. Further, an information (R) concerning the direction in which the measurement signal (U) can be expected to deviate when the edge appears is input. The equalization device then sets a threshold value (US) greater than the extreme value located in the same direction. An edge-detection signal (K) which indicates the appearance of the edge at the detection site is produced immediately the measurement signal (U) exceeds this threshold value.
Abstract:
A system for selectively loading the lowermost segment of a shingled stack of limp material segments, where each segment includes one or more adjacent layers of said limp material, and wherein adjacent segments of said stack are laterally offset along a reference axis x. The system includes a substantially planar surface adapted to support the shingled stack thereon, in a position so that the leading edge of the lowermost segment (362) is adjacent to a reference point along the reference axis. A selectively operatable extractor (320) transports the lowermost segment in the direction of the reference axis and away from the stack. The extractor includes one or more sets of hinged jaws (328, 330) positioned for movement in the direction of the reference axis between the reference point and a point displaced from the reference point along the reference axis. The sets of jaws are adapted to selectively grip a portion of the leading edge of the lowermost segment when that leading edge is adjacent to the reference point.
Abstract:
A sewing machine system possesses an interactive communication capability allowing for the assignment of stitch patterns with respect to workpieces to be sewn. The workpieces are arranged within pallets (22) having binary codes (44) impressed thereon. The stitch pattern assignments are made in conjunction with the sensing of the binary codes. The workpieces are automatically processed from a location wherein the binary codes are sensed, to a location wherein the pallets are attached to an automatic positioning system. The workpieces are furthermore processed through to an output position when the respectively assigned stitch pattern has been sewn.
