    Abstract: Example stylus holders for an electronic device are disclosed herein. In an example, the stylus holder is coupled to an outer housing of the electronic device. In addition, the stylus holder includes a sleeve that is to transition between: an extended position, in which the sleeve is projected out of the aperture of the outer housing; and a retracted position, in which the sleeve is retracted into the aperture of the outer housing from the extended position. Further, the stylus holder includes a biasing member disposed within the outer housing and coupled to the sleeve. The biasing member is to bias the sleeve toward the retracted position when the sleeve is in the extended position.

    Abstract: An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a sensing panel, at least one processor electrically connected to the sensing panel and the communication module, and a memory electrically connected to the at least one processor. The memory may store instructions configured to, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to, based on a pen signal from the stylus pen being detected through the sensing panel, perform a first operation identified based on the detected pen signal, and based on the pen signal from the stylus pen not being detected through the sensing panel, receive, through the communication module, at least one communication signal, identify a gesture based on information on a position of the stylus pen, included in the received at least one communication signal, and perform a second operation corresponding to the identified gesture. Various other embodiments are possible.

    Abstract: The logic of a handheld controller system may use a clustering algorithm to determine which sensors of a touch sensor array, such as capacitive pads, to assign to individual fingers of a user's hand. The clustering algorithm disclosed herein allows for dynamically determining the controller configuration on-the-fly for a given user. An example process includes receiving data generated by a plurality of sensors of a touch sensor array of the handheld controller, generating a covariance matrix that indicates correlations between pairs of sensors, determining a plurality of feature vectors based at least in part on the covariance matrix, each feature vector corresponding to an individual sensor and describing that sensor's correlation(s) with one or more other sensors, clustering the feature vectors using a clustering algorithm, and configuring the touch sensor array according to a controller configuration that assigns sensors to respective fingers of a hand.
