Abstract:
The invention relates to the field of molecular diagnostic, in particular for the detection of the presence of gram-negative bacterial strains resistant to antibiotic in a biological sample. The invention more specifically relates to an in vitro method for detecting the presence of gram-negative bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics in a biological sample, said method comprising the steps of: a) providing a biological sample; b) preparing said biological sample for nucleic acid amplification; c) performing nucleic acid amplification using (i) nucleic acid from said biological sample as a template, (ii) at least one or more set of primers specific of bacterial genes encoding integrase of integrons of class 1, 2 and 3, and, (iii) at least one or more set of primers specific of bacterial genes encoding CTX-M type β-lactamases; and, d) determining the presence or absence of amplicons; wherein the presence of at least one amplicon is indicative of a high likelihood that said biological sample contains bacterial strains resistant to antibiotics. The method may be carried out directly on clinical samples, e.g. from septic patients.

The present invention relates to the field of imaging. More specifically, the invention provides a probe for use in a method for assessing mucus clearance, comprising a polysaccharide polymer capable of binding to mucus, coupled to at least one imaging contrast agent. In a preferred embodiment, the probe is made of aminodextran and coupled to MRI contrast agent and/or a near infra-red fluorochrome, such as Gadolinium chelating group complex and/or Cy5.5, respectively.

L'invention vise à fournir, à un moindre coût, un dispositif de filtration offrant une solution d'assainissement temporaire efficace et pérenne sur toute la durée d'un chantier de génie civil. Pour ce faire, le dispositif de filtration (1) selon l'invention comprend: -un matériau filtrant, -un caisson (5) comportant un fond (6) et des parois amont (7) et aval (8) définissant un volume de réception (15) pour le matériau filtrant (16), chacune des parois amont (7) et aval (8) comportant au moins une partie ajourée (23) de manière à permettre l'écoulement des eaux de ruissellement au travers desdites parois amont (7) et aval (8), ce caisson ayant un poids inférieur à 350 kg. L'invention a également pour objet le caisson et unprocédé d'assainissement provisoire mettant en œuvre le dispositif.

The present invention relates to methods for the prognosis of the progression of cancer in a patient, and more particularly methods for the prediction of the occurrence of metastasis in one or more tissue or organ of patients affected with a cancer, in particular with a breast cancer, a lung cancer or other primary cancer, said methods comprising the step of detecting a higher expression level of FERMT1 gene in a tumour sample compared to a control reference values. The invention further relates to inhibitors of FERMT1 expression and their uses in the treatment of cancer or metastasis.
