Abstract:
The present application provides a novel method for generation of a vitamin D2 compound using a continuous flow photoisomerization reactor. A compound represented by formula I: [structure] as further defined herein, is mixed with a solvent and a sensitizer, and is then passed through the continuous flow photoisomerization reactor. If X3 and X4 of formula II is tert-butyldimethylsilyl, then formula II is mixed with a deprotection reagent to obtain the vitamin D2 analog.
Abstract:
A request for information (RFI) system is provided for use in communications networks including broadcast networks and the internet. In one implementation, a viewer of a cable television network enters an RFI input (1) to a digital set top box using a user remote. Based on this RFI input, the digital set top box transmits a data request (2) to an RFI data center. The RFI data center also receives asset data (3) from an asset database so as to associate the RFI input (1) with a particular asset. An RFI request (4) can then be transmitted to the appropriate asset provider. The asset provider can then provide a report such package of assets or follow-on information (5) back to the RFI data center. The RFI data center may then, in turn, provide the package of assets or follow-on information to a user data terminal, for example, of the cable television network viewer, via access through a web-portal or e-mail (6). The digital set top box may also record inputs from the user to verify consumption of assets and track data requests. Using this information, the RFI data center or an RFI platform may credit value to a rewards account established for the network user based on the user's verified consumption of assets and/or data requests. Further, the RFI data center or RFI platform may be used to collect consumer behavior information, including purchasing decisions made by the user after consumption of assets, and correlate the consumer behavior information with the user's verified asset consumption.
Abstract:
A vehicle screening system for screening vehicles and occupants for entrance to a secured facility. The system can include a processor and an interface that communicates with the processor, wherein the interface displays identification information extracted from a vehicle occupant associated with a vehicle for processing by the processor. Additionally, a plurality of controls are associated with the interface and the processor, wherein the plurality of controls permit facilitates the handling and management of the information extracted from the vehicle occupant in order to permit or deny the vehicle occupant and the vehicle entry to a secured facility through a security gate.
Abstract:
A vehicle screening method and system. A vehicle occupant can be identified utilizing one or more biometric identifiers input by or obtained from the vehicle occupant via a biometric input device. A barcode can also be provided by the vehicle occupant from a scanned card or other structure upon which the barcode is maintained. Additionally, a unique identification number can be provided by the user in order to match the unique identification number against a database of identification numbers, thereby permitting the vehicle occupant to be remotely screened and verified for entry into a secure facility based on the biometric identifier(s), the barcode and the unique identification number.
Abstract:
Process for the preparation of a nitrogen-containing Compound, comprising the Steps of: a) bringing N 2 , optionally NH 3 and optionally a recycle stream together with a carbon- and hydrogen-containing Compound or a carbon-containing Compound and H2 to form a reaction mixture, whereby the ammonia in the reaction mixture, if present, originates for at least 30 wt.% from the recycle stream; b) bringing the reaction mixture in contact with a catalyst at a temperature lying between 200°C and 800°C and at a space velocity lying between 10 2 and 10 6 ml/(g.h), said catalyst containing a metal M1 on a support, M1 being chosen from the group consisting of metals in group 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the IUPAC Periodic Table of Elements or mixtures thereof, whereby the nitrogen- containing Compound is formed; c) optionally separating, subsequent to step b), a portion of between 1 and 99 vol.% off from the reaction mixture, said portion being the recycle stream.
Abstract:
A system for controlling access at secure facilities to locations and assets contained in those locations, comprising a biometric identification device, an RFID tag and receiver, and a database for processing information from them to allow or deny access to the locations and assets. The system ties into an existing network in the facility and also includes a programming device for evaluation of the biometric template and acknowledgement of the identification, if made. The system also controls the permissible locations of assets such as laptops, desktop computers, photographic equipment, weapons such as rifles, data storage devices and the like, such that while a person may have access to a location, use of an asset or removal of the asset may not be part of that person's authorized conduct.
Abstract:
A request for information (RFI) system is provided for use in communications networks including broadcast networks and the Internet. In one implementation, a code identifying an item of media content of interest (e.g. television, newspaper, magazines, billboards, radio) is captured and input to an RFI system that includes stored media tags and a search tool for matching inputs to the stored media tags. Upon receipt of the captured code, the RFI system matches the captured code with the stored media tags and provides a response to the user based on the match. The response may include or relate to follow-on or premium information relating to the content of interest. Using this information, an RFI data center or an RFI platform may credit value to a rewards account established for the network user based on the user's verified consumption of assets and/or data requests. Further, the RFI data center or RFI platform may be used to collect consumer behavior information, including purchasing decisions made by the user after consumption of assets, and correlate the consumer behavior information with the user's verified asset consumption.
Abstract:
An event detection system includes a processor, an electronic tracking device, and one or more transmitters. Each of the one or more transmitters can be configured to be associated with a particular individual of a group of individuals. The processor can be configured to cluster data from the one or more transmitters, and the processor can be configured to analyze the clustered data to determine one or more behavior patterns among the group of individuals. In an embodiment, video data can be combined with the electronic tracking device data in the event detection system.
Abstract:
Systems and methods presented herein generally provide for the compensation of asset providers and/or communications network providers for the non-consumption of assets provided with programming. In this regard, when users elect not to consume the assets associated with the programming, the asset provider loses the opportunity to present their assets to such non-consuming users and is thereby injured in relation to the price they have paid for the delivery of their assets. In one arrangement, a reporting module (616) at a customer device (602) is operative to identify when a user skips an asset and report that skip event to the network. This information may then be utilized to adjust the bill of the asset provider and/or to bill the user associated with the skip event.
