Abstract: A split hinge made of a first hinge portion having a first cover that is operatively coupled to two first leaves, and a second hinge portion having a second cover that is operatively coupled to two second leaves. The first leaves, the second leaves, the first cover, and/or the second cover may have the same or different lengths. The first leaves may have first leaf lengths that are greater than or less than the first cover, while the second leaves may have second leaf lengths that are greater than or less than the second cover. The first cover may extend over the first leaves, the second cover may extend over the second leaves, and a portion of the first cover may extend over a portion of the second leaves or a portion of the second cover may extend over a portion of the first leaves to form the split hinge.

Abstract: During operation of the door system one or more sensors may be utilized in order to monitor the operation of the door assembly (e.g., door system, door, frame, etc.), review the operating parameters, troubleshoot potential issues, schedule and monitor service requests, review and take actions for potential security threats, and/or the like. Consequently, users may determine if the door system operates the door in accordance with the desired operating parameters by reviewing the movement, vibration, speed, acceleration, force, or the like based on the sensor information captured and use the information to adjust the door assembly. Notifications regarding the operation of the door systems may be sent automatically and/or in response to requests from users. The users may utilize one or more applications and interfaces thereof to remotely connect to the door systems in order to review and analyze the sensor information and take the desired actions.

Abstract: Door operator systems are described herein that include the use of an adaptor. It should be understood that the adaptor may be utilized in order to operatively couple separate door operator assemblies together in a double door operator system. The adaptor may include control components (e.g., switches, buttons, toggles, levers, or the like) that are used to turn the door operator system on and off. While the adaptor may be used to operatively couple two separate door operator assemblies together to form a double door operator system, the adaptor may also be used within a single door operator system. Furthermore, with respect to double door operator systems, the system may also utilize a back plate assembly comprising two or more separate back plates (e.g., two or more back plate portions).

Abstract: A door system includes a controller for controlling the door system. A user computer system transmits information to the controller over a wireless connection to modify operating parameters for controlling the operation of the door system. During installation of the door system sensors may be utilized to determine if the door system has been installed properly. The sensors may be used to identify if the door system is mounted level and plum, and to review the movement, vibration, speed, acceleration, force, or the like of the sensors, and thus, the components to which the sensors are operatively coupled in order to make adjustments to the door assembly. Furthermore, the operating parameters of the installed door system, may be cloned and provided to other door systems in order to quickly clone and distribute the operating parameters of one or more door systems to one or more other door systems.

Abstract: An assist apparatus utilized within a door system to aid in opening the door. The assist apparatus may include one or more door activation devices (e.g., a first door activation device and a second door activation device, such as pulls on opposite sides of a sliding door) that can rotate around a pivot location. Moreover, the assist apparatus may further include one or more assist components operatively coupled to the one or more door activation devices. The door activation device(s) are configured to be operatively coupled to a sliding door and allow for rotation of at least a portion of the door activation device. The assist component(s) of the door activation device(s) aid in opening or closing the sliding door by engaging a door frame, wall, or the like as the door activation device is rotated.

Abstract: A door latch slide for engagement with a strike plate comprising a latch slide body engageable with an actuator device for moving the latch slide. A latchbolt extends from the body and has a non-flat sweep side to cause retraction of the latchbolt away from the strike plate and an opposite flat to prevent the door from opening when the latchbolt is extended. The latchbolt has a pair of indicia, one of the indicia indicating a minimum desired distance for extension of the latchbolt into the strike plate opening and the other of the indicia indicating a maximum desired distance for extension. The latch slide may be adjusted during installation of the actuator device by extending the latchbolt into the strike plate opening, moving the latch slide body until the strike plate face is between the pair of indicia, so that the latchbolt when extended maintains the strike plate face between the pair of indicia on the latchbolt.

Abstract: A door closer may utilize a door closing device (e.g., spring) and a force adjustment device (e.g., a motor) in order to allow for manual door opening and assisted door closing. During operation, as a door is manually opened, the spring is loaded (e.g., compressed or tensioned) above its pre-loaded closed position state. Once manual opening is completed, the spring that is loaded during opening begins returning to the pre-loaded closed position state, and thus, moves the door automatically towards the closed position. Depending on the pre- loaded spring setting, the closing force of the door may not be enough to close the door, or to close the door with the preferred force. As such, during closing a controller may engage a motor not to drive the door directly, but to increase the pre-load of spring to increase the closing force in order to allow the door to close as preferred.

Abstract: A detection sensor or a user device is used to aid in providing authentication and activation of a door system when a user tries to access the door for ingress and egress. Operating parameters of the door systems may be set to allow ingress and egress only when a user is identified and authorized. As such, the operating parameters of the door systems may include authentication and activation parameters such that the door systems are controlled, at least in part, based on the presence of a user and/or a user device and the identification of the specific user. As such operating parameters may be different for different users or types of users. Moreover, the user device may be used to authenticate a user and control ingress and egress through the door automatically or through an authentication action taken by the user.
