The invention relates to a method of managing the content of a file belonging to a file system allocating resource cells of a recording medium to files, the allocation of the cells being structured by so-called structural information. According to the invention the method according to the invention comprises a step of modifying the content of the file by allocating and/or deallocating an integer number of cells (130-145) at a chosen position (105) of the content of the file, this step of modifying the file being carried out by updating the structural information of the file system. The invention relates to a system for reserving a pass band in a communication network including a centralised pass-band manager that implements a pass-band reservation protocol and that is connected to at least one host, characterised in that an external entity provides the pass-band centralised manager with a updated view of the logic topology of the network, and in that the pass-band centralised manager includes means for calculating, upon reception of a pass-band reservation request between a source and a destination for a certain traffic class, a current network path between the source and the destination using an algorithm, said path using at least one network link, and means for checking on each path link that there is a sufficient available pass band for the requested traffic class in the requested reservation. The present invention also relates to a communication device in communication network that implements a pass-band reservation protocol and that is connected to at least one host.

L'invention concerne une transmission de services de télévision numérique par une passerelle apte à recevoir plusieurs multiplex numériques, chaque multiplex comprenant au moins un service audiovisuel numérique, la 10 passerelle étant adaptée à recevoir un nombre limité de multiplex parmi ladite pluralité et à les transmettre à au moins un terminal. Afin d'améliorer l'accès aux services lorsque la passerelle arrive en limite de capacité, la passerelle transmet (43) une liste d'au moins un service disponible, à au moins un des terminaux, les services disponibles étant présents sur les 15 multiplex que la passerelle peut recevoir, la liste de services disponibles dépendant des éventuels services déjà transmis à au moins un desdits terminaux.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for selection of shots represented by identifiers displayed in a navigation menu. A document is divided into shots. Several attributes such as the moment of appearance of the shot in the document are assigned to each shot. The navigation menu disposes the identifiers according to a first axis according to the moment of appearance of the associated shot and according to a second axis according to the value of a second attribute according to a criterion other than the moment of appearance. A third attribute is determined for each shot according to a criterion other than the two first criteria, the shot identifiers having the same value as this third attribute are connected graphically. In this way the user perceives the value of several attributes associated with each shot and can easily select the shot that interests him. The invention also relates to a display device able to display the navigation menu.

The present invention relates to a reception device able to receive packets in a communication network comprising at least two stations. The device comprises means for: - receiving packets containing samples PCR r of the network which originate from data sampled every period T smp , where T smp emanates from a time base synchronized on all the stations of the said network; - regenerating a counting ramp CSR_PCR 1 with the aid of a loop PLL 1 receiving the samples PCR r and furthermore delivering local samples PCR_IOC 1 every period T smp and a clock CLK_OUt 1 ; the phase-locked loop PLL 1 comprises: - a samples comparator CMP 1 comparing the samples PCR r and the local samples and delivering an error signal ERR; - a corrector COR 1 receiving the signal ERR and delivering a corrected error signal ERC, the corrector COR1 having a static gain equal to 1; - a digital oscillator VCO 1 receiving the corrected error signal ERC and delivering the clock CLK_OUt 1 , which has a frequency dependent on the signal ERC and is proportional to a gain G. La présente invention se rapporte à un système de réservation de bande passante dans un réseau de communication comprenant un gestionnaire centralisé de bande passante qui implémente un protocole de réservation de bande passante et qui est relié à au moins un hôte; caractérisé en ce qu'une entité externe fournit au gestionnaire centralisé de bande passante une vue à jour de la topologie logique de réseau; et en ce que le gestionnaire centralisé de bande passante comporte des moyens pour, à réception d'une requête de réservation de bande passante entre une source et une destination pour une certaine classe de trafic, calculer le chemin de réseau courant entre la source et la destination en utilisant un algorithme, ledit chemin empruntant au moins un lien du réseau, et des moyens pour vérifier sur chaque lien du chemin qu'il y a suffisamment de bande passante disponible pour la classe de trafic demandée dans la réservation demandée. La présente invention se rapporte également à un dispositif de communication, dans un réseau de communication, implémentant un protocole de réservation de bande passante et relié à au moins un hôte.
