    摘要: A laminated polypropylene-based film suitable for use as a lidding film having an exterior film, a barrier layer, and a sealing layer. The lidding film has a total composition including high levels of polyolefin-based polymers and polypropylene- based polymers such that the material can be processed efficiently in a polypropylene recycling process. Advantageously, the film retains the properties required to suitably withstand sterilization and pasteurization processes and produce a high-quality packaged product.

    摘要: A multilayer barrier film for food packaging comprises an outer layer comprising a first polymeric material having a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of greater than or equal to 10 gram.mil/100in2/day; a first inner layer adjacent to the outer layer, the first inner layer comprising a first retortable grade ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) copolymer; a second inner layer adjacent to the first inner layer, the second inner layer comprising a second polymeric material having a moisture vapor transmission rate (MVTR) of greater than or equal to 10 gram.mil/100in2/day; a third inner layer adjacent to the second inner layer, the third inner layer comprising a second retortable grade EVOH copolymer; and a sealing layer adjacent to the third inner layer; wherein the first polymeric material is not a retortable grade EVOH copolymer. Excellent recovery of oxygen barrier over time is achieved by these films and retortable containers made therefrom.

    摘要: An adhesive-free laminate and a process for producing such a laminate are described herein. The process includes printing an ink on the surface of a first film, exposure of the printed film to UV radiation such that the ink is at least partially cured, attaching the first film to a second film such that the ink is between the first and second film, and exposing the combination of the first film, the ink and the second film to a second UV radiation. It has been found that this process can produce a unique laminate, without the presence of an adhesive.

    摘要: A multilayer film that has improved ultrasonic sealing properties is disclosed. The multilayer film includes a first layer and a second layer. The second Iayer includes a first sublayer composed of a polypropylene copolymer, a thermoplastic polyolefin having a modulus of 1,700 MPa or less, and olefin block copolymer. The second layer further includes a second sublayer composed of a polypropylene homopolymer or polypropylene copolymer. A laminating agent may be positioned between the first layer and the second Iayer. The multilayer film has a seal initiation temperature of greater than 105 degrees Celsius, in some embodiments, packages made from the multilayer film are adapted to withstand exposure to high heat pasteurization of greater than 70 degrees Celsius.
