The inlet port is configured to introduce a first additive into loose fill insulation travelling along the path toward the installation site.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to insulated building structures. In one aspect of the disclosure, an insulated building structure includes a longitudinally-extending cavity bound by a first lateral surface, a second lateral surface, a back surface and a front surface, the cavity having a cross-sectional area in a plane normal to a longitudinal axis of the cavity; one or more shelves extending into the cavity, each having an occluded area in the plane that is less than the cross-sectional area of the cavity; and loose-fill insulation disposed in the cavity, loose-fill insulation being positioned above and below each of the shelves.

The present disclosure relates more particularly to a loose fill insulation hose including a first hose section, a second hose section and a first connection module including a first side attached to a distal end of the first hose section and a second side attached to a proximal end of the second hose section. The first connection module includes an interior surface including a conductive area. The loose fill insulation hose also includes a grounding wire electrically connected to the conductive area of the interior surface of the first connection module. The grounding wire is electrically isolated from the internal surface of the first hose section and the internal surface of the second hose section.

In one aspect, the present disclosure provides for a method of insulating a surface, such as that of a building cavity with an insulating foam, the method comprising: irradiating a foam¬ forming composition with light, the foam-forming composition comprising: a polymerizable component (e.g., based on epoxy or acrylate); an effective amount of a photoinitiator; and a blowing agent; and injecting the irradiated foam-forming composition adjacent the surface.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates generally to methods, devices and systems for insulation, e.g., of cavities associated with walls, ceilings, floors and other building structures, with foam insulation. In one aspect, the disclosure provides an expanding foam insulation material, the expanding foam insulation material being dispensable and expandable to provide an expanding foam insulation material having a maximum foam height; and no local pressure maximum of more than 500 Pa, wherein for each local pressure maximum in excess of 50 Pa, a time difference between a time of the local pressure maximum and a time of 95% maximum foam height is no more than 80 seconds. The expanding foam insulation material is desirably provided with Class A fire rating.
