Abstract: A valve (2) comprising a valve body (4), and a plunger (6) capable of movement relative to the valve body, the valve body comprising an inlet (8) and an outlet (10) whereby movement of the plunger (6) is for selectively establishing a path of fluid communication between the inlet (8) and the outlet (10), in which the valve body (4) includes an air gap between the inlet (8) and the outlet (10), and the plunger (6) is at least partly removable from the air gap whereby a substantial region about the air gap is free from valve components.
