Abstract: The invention pertains to a people conveyor (2) with a rotating passenger transport band (4), at least one balustrade (6) arranged to the side of the passenger transport band and a base panel (8) at the transition between the passenger transport band and the balustrade, wherein a gap (10) is located between the passenger transport band and the base panel, and wherein the base panel essentially extends vertically upward from the gap.
