Abstract: A method is provided for processing a liquid metal, particularly steel, to reduce the amount of inclusions therein, wherein a preferably inert gas is bubbled up from the bottom of a vessel (1) through a porous element (3) fitted to the bottom of the vessel, in conjunction with the use of a reactive powder. A vessel for carrying out the method is also provided.
