Abstract:
The system and method for providing a data update and synchronization via a wireless system disclosed herein. The system includes a mobile transceiver assembly having an LCD and a menu navigation device, and an operations center operatively coupled to the mobile transceiver assembly via the radio frequency link. The method includes receiving a database update from the mobile transceiver assembly, detecting actuation of "edit profile" request of the mobile transceiver assembly, causing a notification signal to be transmitted to the facility controller, causing an identity and the location of the mobile transceiver assembly to be transmitted to the facility controller; and enabling a synchronized response action to be initiated by an operations center database Server located at the operations facility, thus causing the update of both databases simultaneously.

A portable remote activation device having an exceptionally long battery life. The activation device is composed of a receiver unit (10) and a transmitter unit (12) which are normally connected in tandem. The receiver unit includes a receiver (28), a battery source (30) for powering the receiver, and a switch (32) for activating the receiver by the battery. The receiver unit also includes a transmitter unit housing (38) which is shaped to accommodate the transmitter unit (12) and, with the transmitter unit so-accommodated, actuate the switch (32) to disconnect battery power from the receiver. Only when the transmitter unit (12) is removed from the receiver unit (10) is the switch closed to connect the battery to the receiver, enabling the receiver to receive signals from the transmitter unit.
Abstract:
An LED lamp that can take the place of incandescent lamps. An elevated light source is positioned above a screw type base. A first plurality of LEDs is connected in a series on one side of a flat substrate and a second plurality of LEDs, equal in number to the first, is connected in series on an opposite side of the substrate. Each LED of the first and second plurality of LEDs is mounted proximate a heat sink and a drive circuit is provided for the LEDs, with the drive circuit being located proximate and electrically connected to the screw base.

The system includes a mobile transceiver assembly having an emergency notification device and a location determination device, and an operations center operatively coupled to the mobile transceiver assembly via the radio frequency link. The method includes receiving a location of the mobile transceiver assembly, detecting actuation of an emergency notification device of the mobile transceiver assembly, causing an emergency notification signal to be transmitted to the facility controller, causing an identity and the location of the mobile transceiver assembly to be transmitted to the facility controller; and enabling an emergency response action to be initiated by an operations center attendant located at the operations center.
