An aeration device (100) adapted to aerate one or more sheets of a stack (108) of sheets includes a side blower (102) configured to selectively provide an air stream (126) at an outlet thereof along an airstream direction so as to impinge against at least a portion of the stack. A height detecting device (113) is configured to detect a height of an uppermost sheet of the stack. A side blower adjustment device (116) is configured to adjust a height of the side blower (108) and/or an angle of the airstream direction so as to track, by the air stream, the uppermost sheet of the stack based on an input from the height detecting device.
