The transportability of dry pulverized coal originating from raw coal having an average HGI of 30 or above can be improved by adhering an organic compound which has a polar group and is substantially water-soluble to the pulverized coal, examples of such an organic compound including anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, amphoteric surfactants, organic acids and salts thereof, and phenol compounds and salts thereof. The transportability of the pulverized coal is improved to enable the use of the coal as the fuel to be injected into a metallurgical furnace or combustion furnace. Further, the use of the compound prevents the occurance of hanging and channeling in a hopper and the choking of a pipeline.

This invention further improves the operability of a mobile device by changing the operation screen of the mobile device in accordance with the operation status of the mobile device or that of an image forming apparatus in a communicable state when the mobile device and image forming apparatus become communicable with each other. When it is detected that the mobile device exists within a range of a predetermined short distance, status information is acquired from the mobile device to determine whether a file is selected in the operation screen of the mobile device. Information which designates an operation screen to be displayed on the mobile device is transmitted on the basis of the determination result.

A solid compound having a volume average particle diameter of not more than 5 mu m, for example, silicon dioxide, aluminum oxide, calcium carbonate, or silicon carbide, is deposited on a dry pulverized coal obtained from a feed coal having an average HGI of not less than 30 in such a manner that the value of alpha falls within the following range to improve the conveyability of the pulverized coal: K1.r and r represents the volume average particle diameter ( mu m) of the solid compound added.
