Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that enable a user equipment (UE) to select a speed mode for multiple cells. The UE may receive a system information message from the first cell that includes an indication of a speed parameter. The UE may select a speed mode for operation based on the received speed parameter. For example, the UE may determine to operate according to a speed mode when communicating with the second cell based on system information received from the first cell. In some examples, the UE may perform one or more procedures according to a set of parameters corresponding to the selected speed mode.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a user equipment (UE), a measurement configuration message from a network entity and determining, by the UE, a list of candidate cells for a measurement report. The method also includes determining, by the UE, to remove one or more candidate cells from the list of candidate cells based on one or more physical broadcast channel (PBCH) quality conditions to generate a modified list of candidate cells. The method further includes generating, by the UE, a measurement report based on the modified list of candidate cells, and transmitting, by the UE, the measurement report. Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for establishing dual carrier connectivity for user equipment (UE) between a first cell with operating frequency in a first frequency range (FR1) and a second cell with operating frequency in a second frequency range (FR2). To this end, features of the present disclosure allow the UE to adjust a detection window for synchronization signal block measurement timing configuration (SMTC) in order to identify the frequencies for cell measurement and reporting for a second cell in instances where the UE has established communication with the first cell. Specifically, in some cases, the UE may be configured with a "wide detection window" parameter that may be enabled or disabled by the UE to identify FR2 frequency cells.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to a handover mechanism for restraining ping-pong handover in new radio cells are provided. A user equipment (UE) obtains signal measurements of a plurality of downlink specific reference signals from a base station (BS) and one or more neighbor cells. The UE detects an occurrence of a specified measurement event based on a comparison of the signal measurements between the BS and the one or more neighbor cells using a first signal measurement offset or a second signal measurement offset different from the first signal measurement offset. The UE communicates, with the BS in a first subband of a plurality of subbands, a measurement report comprising indication of the occurrence of the specified measurement event for initiating a handover of the UE between the BS and the one or more neighbor cells.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to wireless communications, and more particularly, to mechanisms for detecting and skipping cells a UE is not able to camp on (e.g., NSA cells) during a cell selection procedure. As a result of the skipping, a UE may be able to more quickly detect and select a cell (e.g., an SA cell) that the UE is able to camp on, thus leading to better user experience.
