Abstract: An apparatus for hot filling containers with protein beverage may comprise a batch tank adapted for receiving a protein beverage, a first heat exchanger adapted for heating the protein beverage to a pasteurizing temperature, a reservoir adapted for receiving the protein beverage and having an overflow stream of the protein beverage, a filler adapted for at least partially filling containers with the protein beverage, a second heat exchanger adapted for cooling the overflow stream, a rework tank adapted for receiving the overflow stream, and a control valve adapted for controlling a percentage of the overflow stream recycled to the first heat exchanger from the rework tank such that the protein beverage remains substantially free of floe. A method for making a protein beverage substantially free of floe is also described.

Abstract: A flexible beverage package includes a container having deformable walls for accommodating the beverage therein. A pictorial indicia is included on the container walls. Handle elements are positioned on the container walls for forming extending grasping members to allow grasping of the container without deforming the walls. The handle elements are incorporated into the pictorial indicia for forming an externally extending continuation of the pictorial indicia.

Abstract: A package of multiple containers (16) in a carton (12) formed from a carton blank (10) has a number of panels including a top panel (18), a bottom panel (22), opposed side panels (20, 24) and opposed end panels (28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42). The carton (12) may include a dispenser (70) defined by a dispenser tear line (72) formed in one or more panels of the carton (12) in which the dispenser tear line (72) does not extend into the composite end panels (28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42) nor does it remove corners (60, 62, 64, 66) from the panels (28, 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42). The dispenser (70) may include a portion in the top panel (18) of the carton (12) and may also include a portion of the top panel (18) and an adjacent side panel (20, 24) of the carton (12). In one aspect, the dispenser (70) leaves the adjacent corners (60, 62, 64, 66) in the top panel (18) of the carton (12) intact thereby maintaining the structural integrity of the carton (12) and the package (14) containing the pouches or other containers.

Abstract: A beverage container with a grip formed in side and bottom walls thereof. The grip includes a V-shaped groove on a side wall that receives a finger of a consumer (e.g., a thumb or set of fingers) and a recess formed in a bottom wall of the container to receive one or more other fingers of the consumer's hand. When gripped in this fashion a lower corner of the bottle may be located in the palm of the consumer's hand. The groove in the side wall is formed in the side wall sufficiently close to the bottom wall to allow the hands of most consumers to use the grip. The V shape points upward. Either side of the V can be used depending on whether the consumer wishes to grip with their right hand or their left hand.
