Abstract: The present application is directed to a light fixture (10) and associated retrofit lighting kit that includes a substantially flat light emitting diode panel (12). The light fixture (10) can be employed in a variety of applications, including installation as a standalone fixture, a replacement for a fluorescent lighting unit and as a retrofit lighting kit to be used in connection with an existing fluorescent lighting unit.
