Abstract:
The invention relates to apparatus and method for forming (e.g. die necking) open ends of open-ended metal container bodies. Such an apparatus may include a number of movable holders for container bodies that move the container bodies along a path extending through the apparatus (preferably around the periphery of one or more star wheels). A motor advances the holders and container bodies along the path in steps with pauses between each step. Each step advances one or more container bodies (and preferably two or more). One or more groups of work stations positioned adjacent to the path provides tool sets for carrying out a forming operation on one (and preferably two or more) container bodies simultaneously. Individual container bodies, or more preferably groups of two or more, are subjected to one or more forming operations during passage along the path.
Abstract:
Presented is a method for effectively toilet training a subject, the method including providing a disposable absorbent article to a caregiver, wherein the absorbent article includes a wetness sensor having a signaling device, and wherein the signaling device provides to the caregiver a feedback mode of an insult contemporaneous with the insult; and teaching the caregiver an appropriate response to the feedback mode as a training opportunity. Also presented is a method for toilet training a subject, the method including providing a wetness sensing system to a caregiver, the wetness sensing system including an insult indicator; indicating to the caregiver the occurrence of the insult contemporaneous with the insult; and instructing the caregiver to immediately intervene to teach the subject about the physical sensations experienced by the subject prior to and during the insult.
Abstract:
Presented is a toilet training system including a disposable absorbent article including a first wetness sensor; a first signaling device adapted to communicate with the first wetness sensor and providing a first feedback mode of a wetness state of the disposable absorbent article; and a second signaling device adapted to communicate with the first wetness sensor and providing a second feedback mode of the wetness state of the disposable absorbent article, wherein the second feedback mode is different from the first feedback mode. Also presented is a toilet training system including a disposable absorbent article including a wetness sensor; and a signaling device adapted to communicate with the wetness sensor, wherein the signaling device includes a dynamic feedback mode system.
Abstract:
Many types of continence training methods and aids have been utilized, including progress charts, reward systems, urination "targets" for boys, electronic wetness alarms, progress scales, readiness questionnaires, and thermal and tactile training signals in disposable absorbent products, among many others. A key step in urinary continence training, in particular, is helping the child to learn to associate the physiological sensation of a "full" bladder with voluntary urination.
Abstract:
Garments may include signaling devices. The signaling device may be configured to indicate to a user that a body fluid is present in the garment. The garment may include a chassis including an outer cover having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The chassis may include a crotch region positioned in between a front region and a back region. The garment may also include a signaling device including at least one first terminal and at least one second terminal.
Abstract:
Disclosed is an absorbent article including a temperature change member. The temperature change member includes temperature change material and a first folded region.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for controlling power consumption in a multi-threaded processor. In one embodiment, the processor includes at least one logic unit for processing instructions. The logic unit includes a plurality of positions, wherein each of the plurality of positions corresponds to at least one instruction thread. Clock signals may be provided to the logic unit via a clock gating unit. The clock gating unit is configured to inhibit a clock signal from being provided to a corresponding one of the thread positions when no instruction thread is active for that position. The inhibiting of the clock signal for an inactive thread position may reduce power consumption by the processor.
Abstract:
In general, a process according to one embodiment thereof for manufacturing a substrate having a graphic applied thereto comprises applying a graphic to a substrate in a first configuration of the graphic. The substrate is then elongated in a direction such that the graphic is altered to a second configuration different from the first configuration. An absorbent article component according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a substrate having apertures formed therein and being liquid permeable. A graphic is applied to the substrate at the apertures such that the apertures are disposed in at least a portion of the graphic.
Abstract:
Absorbent articles with carefully controlled stretch properties are disclosed. In particular, the articles exhibit stretch not only in the lateral direction but also in the longitudinal direction. Specifically, the articles have a biaxial stretch ratio, which refers to a ratio of stretch along the hip circumference of the article to the amount of stretch in the longitudinal direction, that is from about 1.0 to about 2.5, and particularly from about 1.1 to about 1.5. Absorbent articles made in accordance with the present invention are capable of accommodating a relatively large size range of wearers. The articles also exhibit improved fit and prevent sagging or drooping of the crotch region, even after the crotch region has been wetted.
Abstract:
Absorbent articles with carefully controlled stretch properties are disclosed. In particular, the absorbent articles have a percentage of stretch in the longitudinal direction from the midpoint of the crotch region to a front waistband and/or to a back waistband in the range of from about 5 % to about 30 %. Additionally, about 80 % of the above stretch resides in a front waist zone and/or in a back waist zone. Through this construction, the absorbent article exhibits improved fit and appearance. Of particular advantage, the carefully controlled stretch properties prevent sagging or drooping of the crotch region, even after the crotch region has been wetted.
