摘要： This invention pertains to certain acridone and acridine compounds of the formula (1) which inhibit telomerase, regulate cell proliferation, etc., and/or treat cancer, proliferative conditions, etc.: wherein either: (a) K is =O, L is -H, alpha single bond, beta is a double bond, gamma is a single bond (acridones); or, (b) K is a 9-substituent, L is absent, alpha is a double bond, beta is a single bond, gamma is a double bond (acridines); and wherein: J 1 is a 2- or 3-substituent; J 2 is a 6- or 7-substituent; J 1 and J 2 are each a group of the formula -N(R N )-W, wherein: R N is a nitrogen substituent and is hydrogen, C 1-7 alkyl, C 3-20 heterocyclyl, or C 5-20 aryl, and is optionally substituted; and, W is C 1-7 alkyl, C 3-20 heterocyclyl, or C 5-20 aryl, and is optionally substituted; and, wherein, when K is a 9-substituent, K is a group of the formula -N(R N )-Q, wherein: R N is an amino substituent and is hydrogen, C 1-7 alkyl, C 3-20 heterocyclyl, or C 5-20 aryl; and, Q is C 1-7 alkyl, C 3-20 heterocyclyl, or C 5-20 aryl, and is optionally substituted; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters, amides, solvates, hydrates, and protected forms thereof. 摘要： Food products which contain bread material and potato material are known. However, there are difficulties with regard to utilizing fresh, fully hydrated bread material. It is necessary to reduce the level of hydration of the bread material to an acceptable level typically in the range 1 %-10% by weight. By taking the initial fresh fully hydrated bread material, shredding and drying to the desired levels and with dried bread particles of desired dimensions an appropriate food snack can be prepared.

摘要： The present invention pertains to acridone and acridine compounds of formula (I), wherein either: (a) K is =O, L is -H, alpha is a single bond, beta is a double bond, gamma is a single bond (acridones); or, (b) K is a 9-substituent, L is absent, alpha is a double bond, beta is a single bond, gamma is a double bond (acridines); and wherein: J is a 2- or 3-substituent; J is a 6- or 7-substituent; J and J are each independently a group of the formula -NHCO(CH2)nNR R , wherein: n is an integer from 1 to 5; and, R and R are independently hydrogen, C1-7alkyl, C3-20heterocyclyl, or C5-20aryl, or R and R , taken together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, form a heterocyclic ring having from 3 to 8 ring atoms; and wherein, when K is a 9-substituent, K is a group of the formula -N(R )Q, wherein: R is an amino substituent and is hydrogen, C1-7alkyl, C3-20heterocyclyl, or C5-20aryl; and, Q is C1-7alkyl, C3-20heterocyclyl, or C5-20aryl, and is optionally substituted; and pharmaceutically acceptable salts, esters, amides, solvates, hydrates, and protected forms thereof. The present invention also pertains to pharmaceutical compositions comprising such compounds, and the use of such compounds and compositions, both in vitro and in vivo, to inhibit telomerase, to regulate cell prol iferation, and in the treatment of proliferative conditions, such as cancer.

摘要： The invention provides a process for treating cooked bread material for the production of a food or other end product, comprising applying a wetting material (15) to cooked bread material (12) to render the material more pliable, forming the wetted bread material into a wetted mass (19) cutting and/or shaping the wetted mass to form the desired product (44), and drying the product to preserve its shape. The invention also provides apparatus to manufacture the product. A food produced from cooked bread material in the manner described can provide an edible base (30; 31) or container (32; 40) for food which can be eaten cold or reheated in a conventional or microwave oven. Alternatively, the treated cooked bread material may provide an edible utensil (34; 35; 36) for eating food, or a product which is not intended to be edible.
