There is provided a charging control mechanism allowing flexible charging in specified communication areas of a communication network, for example of a WLAN. When it is detected that a UE tries to access in a specified communication network area, a charging setting to be used for a communication in the specified communication network area is determined and a rating information in the form of a rating attribute is included in each CDR for indicating the charging setting to be used for charging a communication of the UE in the specified communication network area. A rating/charging engine uses the rating attribute for determining the charging amount for the communication.
Abstract:
A method of connecting a mobile station to a communications network is provided. The method includes performing an authentication of the mobile station at the network. A secure identifier is received at a gateway node of the network and at an access node from an authentication node of the network if it is determined by the authentication that the mobile station is a subscriber to the network. The secure identifier is generated at the mobile station if it is determined by the authentication that the mobile station is a subscriber to the network. A first secure communications tunnel is established from the access node to the mobile station using a value of the secure identifier and a second secure communications tunnel is established from the access node to the gateway node of the network using the value of the secure identifier. The first and second communications tunnels are bound together to form a communications path between the mobile station and the network

Network insights may be useful in various communication networks. For example, certain cellular or similar networks may benefit from the delivery of cellular network insights to subscriber devices through service set identifier (SSID). A method can include detecting, by a device, at least one advertised value of non-cellular access, wherein the at least one advertised value is received by the device over a cellular system information block message. The method can also include extracting, from the at least one advertised value, at least one cellular network insight for a cellular network condition.

The invention describes a method for transmission of a DHCP message between a telecommunication network, especially a telecommunication network according to the WiMAX-standard, and an Internet Protocol (IP) subscriber (SS/MS; MN) to the telecommunication network. Therein, an information secured with an encryption key is added to the DHCP message. The encryption key is derived from a basic key being provided by a network component of the telecommunication network.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Übertragung von Informationen in einem Kommunikationssystem mit mindestens zwei kommunizierenden Einrichtungen, wobei zur Informationsübertragung eine Verbindung zwischen den mindestens zwei kommunizierenden Einrichtungen zumindest über eine Funkkommunikations-Schnittstelle eines Funkkommunikations-systems mit einer Mehrzahl von über ein Basisstationsnetzwerk miteinander vernetzten Basis-stationen erfolgt und wobei die Verbindung anhand von in hierarchische Protokollschichten gegliederten Kanälen durchgeführt wird. Erfindungsgemäß werden zumindest aus einem Kanal für die Funkverbindung zwischen einer kommunizierenden Einrichtung und mindestens einer Basisstation kanalspezifische Informationen an einen hierarchisch höheren Kanal gegeben, welcher ein Internetprotokoll-basierter Kanal für die Gesamtverbindung zwischen den mindestens zwei kommunizierenden Einrichtungen ist.

According to the invention, a station with a non-network technology may be connected in a method for the connection of a data terminal (H; W-H), by means of a logical point-to-point connection, to a data network (LAN), comprising network devices (Hub, Bridge, DHCP, SSG), for the transmission of data in a communication connection and an access device (AP) with an interface (VL), for the establishment of a communication connection with the at least one station (W-H), said communication connection between the access device (AP) and at least one further network device (Hub, Bridge) occurring in a connectionless manner over a shared medium, whereby a point-to-point data connection (PPP) is simultaneously established and maintained between the access device (AP) and the station (W-H).
Abstract:
The invention relates to different methods used with regard to the data of an Internet/Intranet user. The result of said methods, such as the rule-based approach, a neural network with supervised training, a density-based profile modelling and a causal network, are optionally combined in order to obtain more significant information with a reduced error rate with regard to utilisation behaviour. Premature recognition of irregularities in the utilisation behaviour, information about the necessity of network expansion and significant information for marketing purposes and costs is thus guaranteed.
