Abstract: Methods and tools for assembling an article are provided. The method includes providing a mold (24) having a cavity (28) configured as a desired shape (46), positioning a base (12) within the mold so that a surface of the base material is exposed, applying a coating material (48), e.g., urethane or polyurethane, to substantially cover both the exposed surface of the base (12) and an inner surface of the cavity (28), depositing a cushion material (18) into the cavity (28) and sealing the cavity (28) with the exposed surface of the base (12) so that the coating material (48) forms a skin around the cushion material (18) and adheres the cushion material (18) to the base (12).
