Abstract:
Described herein are oxygen scavengers, oxygen scavenging polymeric compositions, and oxygen scavenging articles. The polymeric compositions comprising the oxygen scavengers may have utility in packaging, sealing, wrapping, and storing oxygen-sensitive substances, e.g., to preserve freshness of foods, beverages, and the like.
Abstract:
Systems, methods and apparatus for designing a process to be performed at regions of an experiment library, the process involving the application of components at the library regions. Components are associated with regions of the experiment library. Each of the components represents a material or process parameter to be applied at the regions (100). A plurality o experiment stages are defined, each having one or more associated event types that are selected from predetermined eve types and define a start condition for the corresponding stage. For each of the library regions, the components are associated with one or more of the experiment stages. A plurality of component profiles are generated, which represent processes to be performed at the various regions, and which describe the application over time of one or more of the components associated with a corresponding region or regions according to the associated experiment stages (120).

Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a phase transitional surface whitening composition. The phase transitional surface whitening composition includes a polymeric composition and an oxidizing agent. The polymeric composition of the whitening composition includes a hydrophobic component, a hydrophilic component, and an oxidizing agent harboring component. In particular, the phase transitional surface whitening composition is physiotropic.

Abstract:
The present invention is directed to the preparation of photoresist polymers via living free radical polymerization techniques. Sterically bulky ester monomers are utilized as the polymerization components. Use of chain transfer agents is included in polymerization processing conditions. Cleavage of polymer terminal end groups that include a heteroatom are described.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions having durable antimicrobial activity. The compositions include a carbonate/bicarbonate salt of a quaternary ammonium cation, an organic acid, hydrogen peroxide and a cationic polymer. The cationic polymer includes either a (3-acrylamidopropyl)trimethylammonium chloride monomer or a [2-(acrylolyoxy)ethyl]trimethylammonium chloride monomer. The cationic polymer also includes another monomer selected from a polar, water-soluble monomer, a hydrophobic, silicone-containing monomer or mixtures of both types of monomers in combination with one of the trimethylammonium chloride monomers.
Abstract:
A film forming composition that includes a polymer having from about 80 mole percent to about 100 mole percent of a hydrophobic component, and from about 0 to about 20 mole percent of a charged component; a bioactive agent; and a solvent in which the polymer and the bioactive agent are homogeneously dispersed in the composition. The film forming composition can be used as a "liquid bandage" to form a water resistant film on a biological surface, where the polymer and the bioactive agent remain miscible.
