Abstract: A remote or contact measurement thermometer, in particular an infrared thermometer, comprises an enclosure presenting a measurement portion by which a patient's body temperature is measured, and a display portion through which said temperature can be read. The enclosure is rigid with a case movable relative thereto about an axis of rotation passing through said enclosure, said case being able to assume two working positions relative to said enclosure (2), in a first of these positions said measurement portion (3) being external to the case (26) and in the second of which this latter covers the portion (3), said case (26) presenting an aperture (30) through which the display portion (4) can be accessed visually when said case is in its first working position.
