Abstract:
A system for confirming authorization of a operator for controlling a vehicle on fixed paths, the system having at least one ride vehicle with an onboard control system being configured to confirm operator authorization prior to allowing operator control thereof and an electronic device dimensioned and configured to be supported by an operator, the electronic device being further configured to remotely authorize operator control of the onboard control system. A method for confirming authorization of an operator for controlling a vehicle on fixed paths is also provided.
Abstract:
Present embodiments are directed to a system and method for generating waves in multiple directions. Present embodiments may include a wave generation mechanism (104) configured to be positioned centrally within a container (120) filled with water that is sufficiently sized to facilitate recreational activities for patrons within the container (120). The wave generation mechanism (104) may include at least one actuator (204, 310, 504, 604, 606) configured to activate at least one water- displacement medium (202, 312) to displace the water such that waves are propagated through the water, and a directional feature (206, 506) configured to direct the waves away from the wave generation mechanism after activation of the actuator (204) such that the waves are propagated outward from the wave generation mechanism (104) in multiple directions.
Abstract:
A system and method for displaying a stereoscopic image to a guest that compensates for spatial orientation of the guest includes providing a guest with a device comprising eye lenses, projecting a first and a second image on a surface viewable by the guest, wherein the first image has a polarizing vector that is orthogonal to a polarization vector of the second image, varying the rotational and translational orientation of the guest relative to the surface viewable by the guest, maintaining a directional correspondence between the polarizing vector for the one eye lens and that of the first image and the other eye lens and that of the second image during changes in the guest rotational and translational orientation to reduce distortion in the images viewed by the guest.
Abstract:
A multi-language attraction communication device is provided wherein a guest selects a particular language file corresponding to an audio file coordinated with at least one entertainment activity. The communication device includes a memory for storing multiple language files for at least one entertainment activity and a processor. The processor is configured to access the memory, in response to a selected language file for the at least one entertainment activity, and to communicate the language file for review by a guest in real time coordination with the at least one entertainment activity. A method of providing audio to guests at an entertainment activity is also provided.
Abstract:
An apparatus for entertaining multiple guests includes a device that selectively generates a flame and a barrier interposed between each guest and the flame. The barrier is configured to remain transparent throughout multiple repetitions of use of the device for generating a flame. A method of entertaining guests is also presented.
Abstract:
A device for displaying multiple image streams each comprising multiple image frames that entertains multiple viewers includes at least three image generators for generating at least three separate image streams that each include multiple image frames. An image multiplexer is provided for interleaving image frames of each image stream to produce an interleaved image stream and a display is provided for showing the interleaved image stream. Shutter glasses (and/or polarizers) filter the interleaved image stream, thereby separating one image stream for viewing by one viewer. A method of displaying multiple image streams is also presented 2D or 3D images can be displayed.

Abstract:
Present embodiments are directed to systems and methods for providing an articulated waterslide. An articulate waterslide is capable of being maneuvered during operation to change flow paths of the waterslide. Specifically, an embodiment includes a waterslide with a chute configured to facilitate water flow along the chute and configured to transport a patron, an adjustable joint (76) positioned along the chute, and an actuator (78) configured to manipulate the adjustable joint such that a flow path of the chute is changeable.
Abstract:
Present embodiments are directed to features for maintaining or providing a beach area (10, 100) that is adjacent a water feature (12, 30) and that includes beach surface material (20, 110) disposed in one or more containment structures (16) such that a multi-colored or illuminated beach surface is provided. Present embodiments may include multiple containment structures (16) arrayed in an area (10, 100) adjacent a water feature (12, 30), wherein each containment structure holds beach surface material (20, 110) of a different color. Further, present embodiments may include creating and/or distributing iridescent and/or phosphorescent beach surface material (20, 110) in one or more containment structures (16) that define the beach area (10, 100). Additionally, present embodiments may include adjustable or attachable barrier extensions (42) to facilitate maintenance. Further, present embodiments may include transparent or translucent beach surface material (20, 110) disposed in one or more containment structures (16) and a lighting system (106, 206) under the beach surface materials.
