Disclosed is an attenuated, Streptococcus pneumoniae strain in which a pep27 is so mutated as not to be expressed even upon infection into human lung cells. A vaccine composition comprising the attenuated, live Streptococcus pneumoniae strain and a peptide vaccine composition comprising a pneumococcal pep27 peptide are provided for the prevention and treatment of pneumococcal infections. Also, a method for diagnosing pneumococcal infections and a diagnostic kit therefore are provided. The method features detecting a pneumococcal pep27 gene or pep27 peptide.

Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for in vitro phosphorylation of TRAP derived from Staphylococcus aureus . In the present invention, the TRAP is first identified as a kinase that self-phosphorylates and is phosphorylated specifically in the presence of an oxidative metal ion such as iron, copper and zinc. Based upon this finding, a novel method for in vitro phosphorylation of purified TRAP is provided and also, a method for screening various chemicals and natural materials by using the above method is provided in order to select inhibitors against the TRAP phosphorylation. The inhibitors are expected to be applied for novel antibiotics of Staphylococcus aureus , because this TRAP phosphorylation is essential to infect Staphylococcus aureus . Therefore, the present invention can be widely used to develop novel drugs against Staphylococcus aureus and their resistant strains, in near future.
Abstract:
Disclosed are an organic electrolyte for a lithium-ion battery and a lithium-ion battery comprising the same, wherein the electrolyte includes a base electrolyte containing a lithium salt dissolved in an organic solvent, and diphenyloctyl phosphate added thereto in an amount of 0.1 to 20wt%. As compared to a conventional organic electrolyte using only a carbonate ester-based solvent, such as ethylene carbonate, ethyl methyl carbonate, etc., the lithium-ion battery employing the organic electrolyte can improve thermal stability of an electrolyte solution, high-rate performance, and charge/discharge cyclability of a battery, while maintaining battery performance of the base electrolyte.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a system which manages the entrance and exit of a vehicle (hereinafter, referred to as a "trailer"), including a truck, entering/leaving a predetermined place, checks materials loaded on the trailer, and directs/manages information on a subsequent transportation plan of the trailer. The system includes: a radio communication means for acquiring the electronic invoice information and the vehicle information stored in the trailer in response to the approach of the trailer to an entrance/exit gate, transmitting the acquired electronic invoice information and vehicle information, and forming a communication channel with an externally located physical distribution management server; an entrance/exit control execution means for executing entrance control of the trailer in response to a control signal related to entrance/exit management, and displaying a predetermined message and subsequent transportation information related to the entrance/exit management; an image acquisition means for capturing a front surface of the trailer in response to a control signal related to the entrance/exit management, and transmitting the captured front surface of the trailer; and an entrance/exit control means for receiving previously stored information on entrance/exit and a transportation plan of materials from the physical distribution management server, comparing the electronic invoice information and the vehicle information provided by the radio communication means with the received information on the entrance/exit and the transportation plan of the materials, and outputting a compared result and a control signal related to the entrance/exit management in response to the approach of the trailer. Accordingly, the system increases the efficiency of a physical distribution management process, and thoroughly monitors the loss and the damage of the materials, thereby preventing cost loss from occurring.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a substrate for fixing cells, a substrate for fixing cells, a method of fixing cells and a cell chip, and more particularly to a method of manufacturing a substrate for fixing cells, including preparing a substrate; and forming a plasma polymer layer by integrating a precursor material using a plasma on the substrate, a substrate for fixing cells, a method of fixing cells and a cell chip. The present invention allows fixing cells efficiently by integrating many numbers of functional groups on a substrate using plasma.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a block copolymer formed by coupling the following components with each other: (a) a copolymer (A) of a polyethylene glycol (PEG) type compound with a biodegradable polymer; and (b) at least one oligomer (B) selected from the group consisting of poly (β-amino ester) and poly(amido amine). A method for preparing the same block copolymer, and a polymeric hydrogel type drug composition comprising the temperature and pH-sensitive block copolymer and a physiologically active substance that can be encapsulated with the block copolymer are also disclosed. The multiblock copolymer is obtained by copolymerization of a pH-sensitive poly (β-amino ester) and/or poly(amido amine) type oligomer, a hydrophilic and temperature-sensitive polyethylene glycol type compound and a hydrophobic and biodegradable polymer. Therefore, the block copolymer can form a polymeric hydrogel structure due to its amphiphilicity resulting from the combination of a hydrophilic group and a hydrophobic group in the copolymer and ionization characteristics depending on pH variations, and thus can be used as a drug carrier for target-directed drug delivery depending on pH variations in the body.
