    Abstract: An electric supercharger comprises an electric motor, a drive shaft and a compressor element. The motor is arranged to effect rotation of the compressor element via the drive shaft. The electric supercharger further comprises a sealing member for preventing leakage flow around the drive shaft. The sealing member is movable between a closed configuration in which the sealing member forms a seal around the drive shaft and an open configuration in which the sealing member is separated from the drive shaft such that the seal is broken.
