Abstract:
A stable, high VOC, single phase, non-aqueous liquid aerosol composition having enhanced dispersion based on reduced particle size and increased evaporation rate to result in improved active ingredient dispersion, slower settling in air and less residue on surfaces. The composition includes at least one hydrocarbon propellant, at least one active ingredient and a solvent blend. The solvent blend includes at least one low volatility solvent and at least one high volatility solvent wherein each has a defined vapor pressure and Hansen solubility parameter. The composition upon dispersion as a spray has an aerosol particle size of less than 30 microns.
Abstract:
A method of dispensing a volatile active into the surrounding environment includes the steps of providing a fragrance dispenser having a housing, a fan disposed within the housing and having an airflow director, first and second chambers disposed within the housing, and first and second fragrances disposed in the first and second chambers. The first and second chambers include first and second shutters covering first and second outlets, and first and second heaters, respectively. The method further includes the steps of activating the first heater to volatilize the first fragrance for a first time period, simultaneously activating the fan and the opening the first shutter to dispense the volatilized first fragrance from the first chamber into the surrounding atmosphere, activating the second heater to volatilize the second fragrance for a second period of time, and simultaneously activating the fan and opening the second shutter to dispense the volatilized second fragrance from the second chamber into the surrounding atmosphere.
Abstract:
A simulated dust composition for use in evaluating the effectiveness of cleaning devices comprises (i) a fibrous fraction containing cotton fibres in an amount 70-100% by volume of the fibrous fraction, and (ii) a particulate fraction including skin cells in an amount 40-70% by volume of the particulate fraction.
Abstract:
A composition for cleaning hard surfaces which is self-adhering to a wet or dry hard surface through a plurality of flows of water thereover. The composition is a gel having a viscosity of about 600,000 cP to about 1,500,000 cP and is capable of being manually applied, i.e., in absence of an applicating dispenser, to a hard surface. The gel composition with high viscosity provides for continuous cleaning until depletion, or may be used for one-time cleaning at any time between application of the composition to a hard surface and depletion of the gel composition.
Abstract:
A cleaning pad (28) is disclosed. The cleaning pad (28) includes a base sheet (202) bonded to a fiber mat (203) and exhibits improved debris retention when an additive that exhibits amphiphillic properties is applied to the pad (28). The additive may be added to the pad (28) during manufacture or selectively applied by a user.

Abstract:
A composition for use on a hard surface. The composition has: (i) at least 7.5 wt.% of at least one surfactant selected; (ii) a blend of linear primary alcohols, or a blend of ethoxylated linear primary alcohols, wherein each alcohol of the non-ethoxylated blend or ethoxylated blend includes a carbon chain containing 9-17 carbons; (iii) a transport rate factor of less than about 55 seconds; and (iv) an adhesion time of greater than about 8 hours.
Abstract:
Cleaning compositions for hard glossy surfaces having reduced streaking and blooming based on the inclusion of a compatible fragrance or fragrance mixture therein is described. Compatible fragrance(s) are hydrophilic fragrances having a Delta value of 22 or less. The fragrance is maintained in solution in the absence of a solubilizer fragrance carrier.

A cleaning pad (28) is disclosed. The cleaning pad (28) includes a base sheet (202) bonded to a fiber mat (203) and exhibits improved debris retention without leaving a residue on a surface to be cleaned when a volatile additive is applied to the pad (28).
