Abstract: In a probabilistic amplitude shaping (PAS) system, a distribution matching (DM) component may receive a uniform bit sequence with equal probabilities, which may be converted into symbols with a desired probability distribution (e.g., Gaussian). For example, the probability distribution may use inner constellation points associated with a lower energy and/or power more frequently and outer constellation points associated with a higher energy and/or power less frequently. In general, the DM component may map binary bits to positive amplitudes with a non-uniform distribution according to a DM rate that is based at least in part on a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), which may vary significantly in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel. Accordingly, some aspects described herein relate to configuring DM parameters and codeword and resource mappings in a spatial and frequency selective wireless channel.

Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to an efficient arithmetic coding based multiple composition distribution matcher (MCDM) are provided. A wireless communication device selects, based on a first value representing a sequence of bits, a first composition from a plurality of compositions. Each composition of the plurality of compositions includes a different modulation symbol distribution associated with a modulation scheme. The wireless communication device encodes, based on the first composition, the sequence of bits into a sequence of symbols using arithmetic coding. The wireless communication device transmits a communication signal including the sequence of symbols.

Abstract: In an aspect of the disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided. Abstract: Aspects are provided that allow a UE to perform DMRS bundling in different transport blocks of uplink data on PUSCH in response to a configuration from a base station indicating or enabling the UE to perform the DMRS bundling. The UE receives a configuration from a base station indicating to bundle DMRS in different uplink data channel transmissions for joint channel estimation. The UE determines a DMRS bundling window based on the configuration. The UE transmits the bundled DMRS in the DMRS bundling window. The base station performs the joint channel estimation based on the bundled DMRS. Improved link quality between the UE and base station and signal gains may accordingly result from applying DMRS bundling over different PUSCH transmissions.

Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure relate to random access procedures. In one example, a user equipment (UE) can multiplex an uplink (UL) message with uplink control information (UCI) on a data region of a first slot and transmit the multiplexed UL message with the UCI to a base station in UL transmission or UL retransmission as part of the random access procedure. The UE may further employ UL message repetition to be transmitted with the multiplexed UL message with the UCI. The base station may receive the multiplexed UL message with the UCI with or without UL message repetition. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may identify a set of bits of a transport block and divide the set of bits into two subsets. A first subset of the TB bits may be subjected to distribution matching, and a second subset of the TB bits may not be subjected to distribution matching. The transmitting device may perform distribution matching on the first subset of bits to obtain a bit sequence based on a non-uniform probability distribution. The transmitting device may map the bit sequence and the second subset of bits to a set of symbols based on a symbol constellation. The amplitudes of the symbols may be based on the bit sequence (and hence the first subset of bits), and the signs of the symbols may be based on the second subset of bits.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A transmitting device may perform distribution matching on at least a first subset of a set of bits, such as the bits of transport block. The distribution matching may include a variable-to-fixed (v2f) distribution matching procedure in which a ratio between a quantity of input bits to output interim symbols for the v2f distribution matching procedure is variable. The distribution matching include evaluating, after each instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure, whether additional bits remain for distribution matching, and if so, whether to perform an additional instance of the v2f distribution matching procedure or an alternative distribution matching procedure on the remaining bits. Corresponding techniques for a receiving device are also described, including distribution dematching techniques based on a v2f distribution dematching procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit a random access channel preamble to a base station. The UE may receive, from the base station and in response to the random access channel preamble, a grant comprising a first frequency hopping indication associated with intra-slot frequency hopping and a second frequency hopping indication associated with inter-slot frequency hopping. The UE may identify, based at least in part on the first frequency hopping indication or the second frequency hopping indication, a frequency hopping configuration for transmission of repetitions of an uplink transmission responsive to the grant. The UE may transmit the repetitions of the uplink transmission using one or more frequency hops in accordance with the frequency hopping configuration.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a set of random access occasions. The set of random access occasions may be sharedwith legacy UEs, and the set of random access occasions may be associated with repetition of a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) message. As an alternative, the set of random access occasions may be distinct from an additional set of random access occasions associated with legacy UEs, and at least a first subset of the set of random access occasions are associated with repetition of a PUSCH message and a second subset of the set of random access occasions are associated with a reduced capacity (RedCap) identification message. Accordingly, the UE may transmit a random access preamble within an occasion selected from the set. Numerous other aspects are described.
