Abstract: The present invention relates to a composition comprising and a method for preparing a stable aqueous dispersion of polymer particles comprising structural units of vinyl acetate and a phosphorous acid monomer. The composition of the present invention provides vinyl acetate/phosphorus acid based polymer particles that improve hiding efficiency in pigmented coatings formulations.
