Abstract: A method for real name subscription based on self-service terminal and self-service terminal thereof is provided in the present invention. The method includes: reading identity information of a user; reading biologic character data of the user; determining the identity information valid according to the identity information and the biologic character data; obtaining the number selected by the user and the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card data; sending the identity information, the number and the SIM card data to the Business Support System (BSS) so that BSS establishes an account for the user according to the identity information and binds the number and the SIM card data to the account. The self-service terminal includes: an electronic identity card reader; a biologic character reading module; a determination module; a first obtaining module; a second obtaining module and a first sending module. The method for real name subscription based on self-service terminal and self-service terminal thereof provided in the embodiment of the present invention can verify the user identity and provide the real name subscription service for the user according to the identity information and the biologic character data of the user.
