A flame-retardant resin composition which comprises 100 parts by weight of a base resin (A), 10 to 300 parts by weight of a flame retardant (B), and 1 to 200 parts by weight of an inorganic filler (C) (glass fibers and/or glass flakes). The flame retardant (B) comprises a polyphenylene oxide resin and/or polyphenylene sulfide resin (B1), a phosphoric ester (B2), and a nitrogenous cyclic compound (B3) (e.g., a polyphosphoric acid salt of an aminated triazine compound). The inorganic filler (C) has been treated with a surface-treating agent or binder comprising a novolak epoxy resin. This resin composition is inhibited from dripping and is useful for obtaining a highly flame-retardant molding.

Flame retardancy is imparted to a polyalkylene arylate resin by incorporating a flame retardant comprising a phenolic resin and a phosphazene together with a styrene resin. The phosphazene compound may be a cyclic phenoxyphosphazene compound, chain phenoxyphosphazene compound, or crosslinked phenoxyphosphazene compound. The polyalkylene arylate resin composition obtained is free from flame−retardant oozing, has satisfactory heat resistance, and is highly flame−retardant.

A resin composition is composed by adding about 0.001-5 parts by weight of an antioxidant and about 0.001-10 parts by weight of a guanamine compound represented by the formula (1) below to 100 parts by weight of a polyacetal resin. The resin composition may further comprise a processing stabilizer, heat resistance stabilizer, weathering stabilizer, coloring agent, gloss control agent, impact strength modifier, sliding property modifier, and filler.
