Abstract: A stepless speed change device comprises an input shaft, an output shaft, a driving wheel, a gear or chaingear, an annular housing, an annular wheel, a plurality of levers, and wedge teeth or chains. An annular groove in which converse wedge teeth are held is disposed in the driving wheel. Wedge teeth are connected with the heads of the levers, and the levers are connected with the annular wheel. The axial distance between the driving wheel and the annular wheel is regulated by swing of the annular housing, and by means of locked or released state of the wedge teeth, rotating speed ratio of input and output shaft is thus changed. Such rotating speed ratio change can be realized while vehicles are driving, and it can provide continuous and stepless speed change. The stepless speed change device is especially adapted to bicycles. The axial distance of the driving wheel and the annular wheel is changed by regulating leads, and such regulation has no limitation to the scale of speed change. The speed change range is wide and can be kept synchronous with power input, and it has many advantages such as simple structure, flexible operation, silence, low wear, smooth driving, significant fuel savings while maintaining good speed change effect.
