Abstract: Described is a pressure sensitive adhesive tape having a backing with a first side and a second side and an adhesive or segments of adhesive on the first side where the adhesive at the edges is thicker than the mid-cross section. Such tapes are especially useful on rough surfaces. Also described is an adhesive tape with an inner adhesive coated on the first side, a plurality of second segments uncoated by adhesive, where the first segments are separated by the second segments, and a third segment of an edge adhesive coated on the edges of the first side of the tacking providing a thicker edge adhesive.
