Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a damping device (100) comprising a first element (340) extending along an axial direction (320) and a magnetic assembly (330). The first element includes at least a first section (342) and a second section (344). The first section includes a conductive material of a first electrical conductivity and the second section includes a conductive material of a second electrical conductivity higher than the first electrical conductivity. The first section and the second section are arranged such that the magnetic assembly magnetically engages the first section prior to the second section to damp a relative displacement between the first element and the magnetic assembly along the axial direction.

Abstract: An armature (10; 30; 50) for an electromagnetic actuator, the armature comprising an armature body (12; 32; 52), at least one electrically conductive member (14; 34; 54, 64) configured for cooperation with a magnetic field generator (110; 130; 150, 151) of an electromagnetic actuator, and a connection end(26; 46; 66) configured for connection of the armature to an apparatus operable by an electromagnetic actuator. The armature body (12; 32; 52) also comprises a cellular structure (13; 33; 53). The armature may form part of an electromagnetic actuator (100), which in turn may be a component in a switch device (200). The armature may be manufactured by a method comprising an additive manufacturing process step.
