Abstract: A drink (eg beer) dispensing system has pressurising means (gas supply (11)) to force drink from supply (12) along line (17) to dispensing tap (16). Computer (3) controls the dispenser using inputs from gas pressure sensor (25), sensors (26-27) for oxalate ions and bacteria in pipe (17), coolant sensor (28) for sensing the temperature in coolant line (19), and flow meter (30). A user inputs a volume to be dispensed via pushing a respective button (32) which, via computer control of solenoid-actuated piston-type valve (31), ensures the correct volume is delivered to tap (16). The system can produce warning signals or even prevent supply if sensors, indicate undue delay in cleaning procedures for the drink line (17), problems with the cooling system, etc.
