Abstract: An apparatus (1) for the production, by casting, of metal ingots, which comprises a casting device (2) associated with at least one casting shell (3) that can move along a closed path (100), the casting shell (3) defining at least one containment receptacle (4) for the molten metal fed by the casting device (2); the casting shell (3) comprises at least one finned body (5) for the dissipation of the heat from the casting shell (3) by way of forced convection.
