Abstract: A stand (1) for an elongate and pliable member (14). The stand comprises a head (2) including a gripping means (6) and an elongate support member (4). The gripping means is adapted to releasably grasp a plurality of the elongate and pliable members alongside one another. The elongate support member at or adjacent one end is connected to the head and at an opposite end is adapted to mount or locate adjacent the ground for elevation of the head, and the associated pliable members, above the ground.
