Abstract: Phosphate-free composition comprising (A) at least one polymer comprising (a) backbone that is based on a polyester with an average molecular weight Mn in the range of from 400 to 15,000 g that is formed from aspartic acid and polyalkylene glycol in which alkylene is selected from ethylene, 1,2-propylene and 1,2-butylene, wherein polymer (A) comprises side chains selected from (b) (poly)alkylene oxide chains on N-atoms of aspartic acid, and (c) polymerized vinyl monomers selected from vinyl-C1-C20 carboxylic esters, (meth)acrylic acid, N-vinyl pyrrolidone and N-vinyl imidazole.
