Abstract:
A skid steer loader (10) has an operator's cab (16) mounted thereon pivoting about a horizontal pivot (30) adjacent a forward edge of the frame (12) of the loader (10) and at the forward edge of the operator's cab (16). In a working position the cab (16) overlies a portion of the frame (12) that has operating components therein, and the cab (16) can be pivoted to raise the rear of the cab (16) to pivot it forwardly to an open position to permit access to components beneath the cab (16) when its in its working position. The cab has positive latches (70) for holding it in its working position, and an automatic stop (50) to hold it in its open position. The latches (70) are operated by levers (102) on the back wall of the cab (16) that are moved between a latched and unlatched position, and when they are in their unlatched position, a cover (28) for the engine components cannot be closed.
