    Abstract: An apparatus includes a first weight plate, a second weight plate, and an elongate, substantially cylindrical handle. The first weight plate assembly includes a first pair of endplates and a first over-molded weight. The second weight plate assembly includes a second pair of endplates and a second over-molded weight. The handle is mechanically coupled at a first end to the first weight plate assembly and at a second end to the second weight plate assembly. At least one of the first weight plate assembly or the second weight plate assembly includes at least one light-emitting diode (LED) and a transparent or translucent numerical indicator associated with a total weight of the apparatus and through which light emitted from the at least one LED is transmitted when the at least one LED is activated.

    Abstract: A flexible weight that can be secured to a wearer during performance of an exercise. The weight is segmented, with each segment from a set of segments including an associated bolster-shaped unit having a plurality of pellets suspended in a cured gel, the pellets/gel being positioned within a casing. The set of segments is contained within an outer pouch that is substantially conformal with the set of segments, and the segments from the set of segments are arranged in a linear array. The weight also includes an endcap with a colored light indicator and electronics for communicating with a smart mirror.

    Abstract: An interactive exercise method includes streaming exercise content to an interactive video system for display via a mirror, the exercise content including a depiction of an instructor performing a repetitive movement. A video stream of a user performing the repetitive movement is received, via a camera of the interactive video system, and the user is detected in the video stream. The user or a body portion thereof is tracked in the video stream as the user performs the repetitive movement. The method also includes generating a measure of a difference between a form of the user performing the repetitive movement and a predetermined form for the repetitive movement. A corrective movement is displayed to the user, via the display and during the display of the instructor performing the repetitive movement, based on the measure, to conform the form of the user to the predetermined form for the repetitive movement.

    Abstract: A smart mirror can show live or recorded streaming video of an instructor performing a workout in a package that is attractive and unobtrusive enough to hang in a living room. The smart mirror includes a mirror surface with a fully reflecting section and a partially reflecting section. A display behind the partially reflecting section shows the video when the smart mirror is on and is almost invisible when the smart mirror is off. The smart mirror also has a speaker, a microphone, and a camera to enable a user to view the video content and interact with the instructor. The smart mirror may connect to the user's smart phone, a peripheral device (e.g., a Bluetooth speaker) to augment user experience, a biometric sensor to provide biometric data to assess user performance, and/or a network router to connect the smart mirror to a content provider, an instructor, and/or other users.
