Abstract: The invention relates to a variable displacement hydraulic unit (1) comprising a casing (50), a positionable adjustment element (3) for adjusting the displacement volume of a driving mechanism (2), and a control unit (9) for controlling an adjustment unit (7) featuring an actuator (8) to position the adjustment element (3). The hydraulic unit (1) further comprises an integrated self- sustaining (autarkic) electrical power source (10) that is located in or on the casing (50) and that energizes at least the control unit (9) and the actuator (8).
