Abstract: Light projection systems using white light illumination. One embodiment provides a projection system using white light illumination. The projection system includes an illumination assembly configured to receive a white light input. A prism is configured to separate the white light input into color light inputs, redirect the color light inputs to respective modulators, and combine modulated color light inputs from the respective modulators into a white light output. An optical filter is configured to spatially Fourier transform the white light output to generate a filtered white light output. A projection lens assembly is configured to project the filtered white light output.

Abstract: A projection system and method includes a light source configured to emit a light in response to an image data; a phase light modulator configured to receive the light from the light source and to apply a spatially-varying phase modulation on the light, thereby to steer the light and generate a projection light; and a controller configured to dynamically determine, based on at least one of a user input or a sensor signal, a target geometry of a projection surface on which the projection light is projected, determine, based on the target geometry, a phase configuration for a frame of the image data, and provide a phase control signal to the phase light modulator, the phase control signal configured to cause the phase light modulator to generate the projection light in accordance with the phase configuration for the frame.

Abstract: A projection system and method therefor includes a light source configured to emit a light; a spatial light modulator configured to receive the light and generate a modulated light; a lens configured to spatially Fourier transform the modulated light; a filter including an aperture, the filter configured to transmit at least one diffraction order of the modulated light as Fourier-transformed by the lens and to block a remaining portion of the modulated light; and a controller configured to: for each of a plurality of subperiods, cause the projection system to project an image through the filter, and between each of the plurality of subperiods, shift the image by a partial pixel distance.

Abstract: A projection system and method includes a light source configured to emit a light in response to an image data; a phase light modulator configured to receive the light from the light source and to apply a spatially-varying phase modulation on the light; and a controller configured to determine, for a frame of the image data, a plurality of phase configurations, respective ones of the plurality of phase configurations corresponding to solutions of a phase algorithm and representing the same image with a different modulation pattern, and provide a phase control signal to the phase light modulator, the phase control signal configured to cause the phase light modulator to modulate the plurality of phase configurations in a time-divisional manner within a time period of the frame, thereby to project a series of subframes within the time period.
