Abstract: The present invention relates to a bracket for use with a guard rail, and methods of manufacturing and installing same. The bracket includes a main body manufactured from flat sheet material. The main body has a foot portion including a mounting portion configured to engage with a building, where the mounting portion includes at least two bearing surfaces. The main body also includes a post portion extending from the foot portion, where the mounting portion is located at a distal end of the foot portion relative to the post portion. At least one recess is located in the post portion, including a bearing surface for directly or indirectly supporting a guard rail.
