Abstract:
An adapter for producing a predefined electrical output based on any one of a plurality of different electrical inputs. The adapter comprises a number of swivel input plugs, each plug being specifically configured to be compatible with a certain electrical outlet that forms the source of a respective electrical input. The plugs are movable between operative and inoperative positions. In the operative position, a plug effectively connects an electrical input with a matched conversion circuit which converts that electrical input to the predefined output.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a one piece lightguide structure having at least two lightguides, one of which can be movable with respect to the other. In a preferred embodiment, the lightguides are interconnected by a restricted light path structure, in a preferred embodiment, a light dissipating spring which mechanically interconnects the two lightguides but serves to restrict any light transmitted from one light guide to the other. The light path restriction is created by dispersing any light transmitted along the spring, reflecting light back towards the originating lightguide, trapping light in various larger cross-sectional area portions or varying combinations of all three. In a preferred embodiment, a light dissipating spring comprising the three large cross-sectional areas connected in series between a fixed lightguide and a movable lightguide by smaller cross section portions which serve to mechanically interconnect two lightguides.
Abstract:
An electronic device holder (15) for increasing the standby and talk time of a cellular telephone (10) is disclosed. The apparatus includes a housing (55) defining a cradle (53) for holding the cellular telephone (10). A battery (40) is integrated within the housing (55) such that when a cellular telephone (10) is placed within the cradle (53), the battery (40) within the housing (55) powers the telephone rather than the main battery (25) located within the cellular telephone unit (10). Means for attaching the housing to a user such as a belt clip is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A contact assembly provides a reliable contact between a battery pack and an electronic device. The assembly includes a plurality of contact members and an insulator molded to the contact members. The plurality of contact members preferably include a positive contact member and a negative contact member each having a weldable surface and a selectively plated surface. The weldable surfaces are welded to the positive and negative terminals of the battery pack, respectively. The selectively plated surfaces are preferably plated with gold to ensure a good connection between the device and the battery pack. The insulator serves to fix the contact members relative to each other. In addition, the insulator facilitates minimization of the battery pack size by enabling the contacts to be placed very close to each other.
Abstract:
A spring button assembly is integrally formed with a casing for an electronic device. The spring button assembly includes a press button disposed facing an exterior of the casing, the PCB contact extension disposed facing an interior of the casing, and a resilient connector connecting the press button and the PCB contact extension to the casing. The casing can be molded with many different configurations of the spring button assembly, enabling the button to be placed far from its corresponding PCB contact including around complex geometry. The PCB contact extension may be configured to actuate a contact switch on the PCB or may be provided with a conductive surface to connect conductive traces on the PCB. In one arrangement, the PCB contact extension includes a cam surface adapted to engage a contact block for activating the PCB contact. In yet another arrangement, the button assembly includes components to be an LED indicator.
